Broncos Update. (A message from Andy Rose)

07/04/2011

Hi all,

 We are well and truly geared up for another big season at Bracknell Broncos.  You may have seen that all of the other sections have a name, Tornadoes, Blazers, Inferno, so we plan to add our name to that list.  We are going to rename from Bracknell Broncos to Bracknell..............well, hey, why don’t you decide!  We’ll ask our young players for suggestions and get that organised very soon.

 Our season will be as action-packed as we possibly can.  We will continue to run local games at Westmorland Park on Saturday mornings and training on Tuesdays, We will split the season into 3 parts;

From Opening Day for 4 weeks: spring ball; we will invite as many new players as we can; our focus will be on fun, making friends, learning the game; we will play with soft-core balls and teams will be mixed from week to week on Saturday mornings

May to end-July: summer ball; we will still be having fun, working mostly with regular balls and playing additional games against other clubs; our local Saturday morning teams will be assigned and the teams will remain largely unchanged;

9th July is a date for your diary, a home game vs Herts.  Other likely tournament or away-day dates;

21st May – at Essex Atoms tbc

11th June

2nd July

23rd July - tournament with Northern Teams to be held in the Midlands

Aug-Sept: post-season; with many players away on summer holidays, all clubs often struggle to field a team.  So, we intend to get together with players in groups and play against each other, but on a friendly “get-together-and-play” basis.  All Bronco Head Coaches have agreed to do this to ensure that your children have opportunities to play.

End-Sept is when the play-off games will be played, likely w/e 9/10 and 16/1

We hope to see you at the diamond soon
